Sky & Clouds & Land & Air

June 1st

10am-12pm MST

Description:

THIS workshop is an opportunity for you to paint from a place of confidence and joy, get lost in the painting process, learn about your natural environment AND create A skyscape that you’re proud of.  As an added bonus, you will also develop your creative voice while getting in touch with your artist heart.

With continual demonstrations and experimentation, you will learn Kathy’s fingerpainting techniques for achieving dramatic sky paintings. This is not your average art workshop.  It is a tactile sensory experience full of support, encouragement and loads of experimentation.

Goals:

  • Learning to fingerpaint with soft pastel through layering and blending techniques

  • Understanding the science behind clouds and colors in the sky

  • Creating artwork that reflects your personality

  • Becoming confident with the subject at hand as well as in the use of this medium

  • Recognizing elements of design

Student Supply List:

  • Basic 12-color box of Soft Pastels (NOT oil pastels!)  A box with a larger pastel stick count is always acceptable.  (Recommended pastel brands:  Diane Townsend or Terry Ludwig Pastels)
